I would like to start gathering sponsorship for TSAC. I have typed out a letter that I would like to submit to our board before I start sending it out to Corporations, Organizations, and Businesses. Please review and suggest changes or find mistakes within my attachment.

why can't i never look at your files? don't you have them in word or something? i have a hard time understanding .zip files...

I'm not sure, its just in a word document, and I could open it from two seperate computers. I can email it to you if you would like.

I think you need the newest Word to open the files with x at the end. So, if you dont' have Office 2007, that may be your problem. Just my "out there" guess.

Jeff is right, you either need the new version of Microsoft word or a patch for the older versions that allows you to open .docx files. I think the patch is available from microsoft.com but I could be wrong.

If anyone else is interested in sending this out, please contact me before contacting the potential sponsor. I will keep a list to make sure we don't contact the same company with the same letter more than one time.

Will, i'd say go ahead and do it yourself on behalf of TSAC. I don't think the rest of us really know what were doing with this type of thing (hence us never attempting to do it before).

Thanks Eric, I guess nobody could really be mad if I succeed in bringing a sponsor to TSAC. Hopefully something works out.

as an update on this, so far i have contacted about 5 companies, all of them nationwide organizations that generally are quite visible because of numerous public sponsorships. None of the responses have been to positive, most notably they have said that they would be more interested in sponsoring an event than an organization. I suppose that makes sense because they wouldn't get much exposure from sponsoring TSAC, however a championship of sorts would be more likely to get sponsorship,

Thanks will. Who did you send this out to? Any metaphorical feet in any metaphorical doors would help...or, on the flip side, no point in hitting companies that told ya to bugger off.
