How should we decide on our National Team for Tornado Worlds 2009?
Please select one of the following options:
1. We should have a qualifier in Dallas, any Canadians that want to qualify can enter the qualification event.
2. We should have a vote, all of the Canadian players in attendance at Worlds can vote on who should be on the National Team.
3. We should have a vote, all Canadian ProMaster players should select the team
4. We should have a vote, all TSAC Members should vote on who is on the team.
5. We should elect a Coach and have him pick the team.
TSAC Exec - Select a number between 1 and 5 from the above list.

yea, you 'give it up' - as you were unbiased and impartial when you were leading the discussion - and when you called the vote... RIGHT?!?! B-) I do get a vote though, (but my alternate does not).. possibly the vp needs an alternate too. you're also recieving the votes, so know how people are voting, and if you had a vote, you could sway the outcome with 'insider knowledge'.
btw. accoring to our constitution, you're supposed to break it down to as few options as possible - like 2. - what we might find is a smattering of choices, with no real clear winner, but we'll see. just something to keep in mind going forward.
and by the rules, we're supposed to have a bi-election to get new board members on board, but i don't think anyone would object to filling an empty seat in this case. But we'll have to open up all the other seats as well, to make it fair. and by open it up. i mean just put the word out that we're willing to fill some seats. (but a word on caution on this, the last time we did this i think a few incactive exec members resigned)
actually, i would think it entirely reasonable (and acceptable according to our constitution), that you appoint a delegate right away. so someone from alberta that can vote to represent the interest of Tornado players from Alberta. You get to appoint them - no voting required.
but they only vote when you cannot. So if i ever (snicker snicker) play president again, you'll get your vote back, and your delegate will no longer vote.
Ok I'll appoint an alternate after talking to guys at our Tuesday night tourney. I think it would be beneficial if Eric G. was an actual rep though, not just an alternate. So Eric G you are not my alternate but I would certainly support a bielection or just an appointing of Eric G as an exec.
Can we not change the constitution so that if a spot is not filled anyone can step up and claim the spot?
if you wait until Tuesday then the delegate cannot vote on the current topic. - just an fyi
as for just filling a spot - no i don't think that would be right. every spot on the exec has to be filled by election, where any people from that region may step forward and say they want to run for the spot. Yes mostly all our current spots did win uncontested, but as long as we stick to this system, no one can ever claim that the people in these seats where not just hand picked.. they must be chosen (ie voted) by the players they are supposed to represent.
I'm sure Eric G. will be a great addition, but we really should run a bi-election in order to make it official. nor can we go changing our constitution whenever we feel like it - at least that's not the way its supposed to be done.
